Concrete Barrier & Planter Beautification

St. Louis ArtWorks, a member of the West End community, provides paid apprenticeships in the arts to youth, ages 14-18.  Our goal is to beautify the Concrete barriers & planters near Gwen Giles park and along the intersection of Hodiamont and Maple Ave.

By painting the planters, we plan to provide for the beautification of the neighborhood, thus instilling a sense of pride for the community, including seniors, youth and all current residents.

This project will not only enhance the esthetics of the park and neighborhood, but will also allow  for employment of some of the younger members of the community, as they will be employed to provide much of the labor needed to paint the concrete barriers.
